What we help with
Four things, described the way they actually happen rather than the way a price guide names them.
Assistance with daily life
A worker comes to your home and helps with the parts of the day that are hard on your own — getting ready, keeping the place in order, laundry, meals, the shopping list.
How often and how long is up to you. Some people want two hours on a Tuesday. Some want someone most mornings.
Community and social participation
Going to the things you want to go to. The gym, the library, a class, the shops, a group, a friend's place, the mosque or church.
Sometimes the worker joins in. Sometimes they wait in the car park. That is your call.
Transport
Getting to an appointment, to work, to a course, or to something social — and getting home again. Our workers drive their own cars and are insured for it.
Building everyday skills
Learning to do things yourself: catching public transport, cooking a few meals you like, managing a budget, using a phone or a computer, handling appointments.
The point is that you need us less over time, not more.
Plan types we work with
We work with participants whose plans are self-managed or plan-managed.
Yan Yean Support Services Pty Ltd has applied for registration as an NDIS provider and registration has not yet been granted, so we cannot currently work with agency-managed plans. When registration comes through we will say so here.
What we do not offer
Saying this plainly saves everyone time, and honesty about scope is remembered.
We do not provide specialist disability accommodation, behaviour support, nursing or clinical supports, or plan management.
Where to go instead
Your support coordinator is the fastest route to a provider who does the thing you need. If you do not have one, the NDIS is on 1800 800 110 and can point you in the right direction.
We are happy to talk it through on the phone even if the answer is that we are not the right service for you.
